Digital Mammography

High image quality. Fuji's Computed Radiography for Mammography (FCR) system features dual-side reading technology, which allows image data collection from both sides of the imaging plate, producing clearer images with less radiation.

Oregon has some of the highest breast cancer rates in the country, with 63 women being diagnosed with breast cancer each week.  To provide patients in the Portland area with the most advanced breast cancer detection technology available, Pacific Breast Center has installed Fuji’s Computed Radiography for Mammography (FCR) system.  PBC is among the first breast imaging facilities in the U.S. to offer this high-resolution digital mammography capability.

Referring physicians also have the option of viewing their patient’s mammograms through our Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), which enables the digital mammograms to be electronically viewed, transmitted and stored, instead of printed to film. This also facilitates long-distance consultations with other specialists since the digital images can be readily transmitted to other facilities.  Mammographic images can also readily be transferred to a CD if a patient needs to take them to another facility.
